Heat gun

Heat guns are ideal equipment for setting high and low-density polyethylene geomembranes, and for welding PVC geomembranes. Geomembrane welding is mainly used in construction of water pots, ponds, artificial lagoons, biodigesters, coatings, etc. The economic sectors that require the most these types of geomembrane installations are: agricultural, fish farming, mining, sanitation, infrastructure, etc. Heat guns are air blowers that suck in and expel air through a nozzle, which has a ceramic resistor that heats the air flow up to approximately 650 degrees.

In welding geomembrane it's important to choose the right equipment according to the application. This is determined based on the type of material, thickness, surface and other variables to be taken into consideration. The determinant feature for a well-done weld with a heat gun is the stability of the temperature during the preheating stage and that of the mass or filler material. Furthermore one must bear in mind that to set and weld the geomembrane with good results, the process must be carried out by trained personnel with the adequate material, equipment and tools. Hot air equipment allows for versatility in small and big surfaces. It requires accessories like flat nozzles of 20 or 40 mm and a pressure roller.
