Extruders

The manual extruders are ideal equipment for welding high- and low-density polyethylene geomembrane. Geomembrane welding is mainly used in construction of water pots, ponds, artificial lagoons, biodigesters, coatings, etc. The economic sectors that require the most these types of geomembrane installations are: agricultural, fish farming, mining, sanitation, infrastructure, etc.

The different models of extruders have varying features such as:

Weight
Length
Speed
Size of extrudate/filler material
Shape of teflon or shoe
etc.

The speed in an extruder is measured in kilograms per hour and it depends on the diameter of the welding cord that is being used (3, 4 or 5 mm diameter). The determinant feature for a well-done weld with an extruder is the stability of the temperature during the preheating stage and that of the mass or extrudate/filler material. Furthermore one must bear in mind that to achieve good results, welding by extrusion must be carried out by trained personnel with the adequate material, equipment and tools.
